I want to share a few of the "thank you" letters we received recently from elderly folks who have been shut in by the coronavirus crisis. Your support made this possible. See below.  --Gary

"They really are a life saver..."

Those words came from a dear woman living in a senior center who has been receiving Mercy Chefs meals during the coronavirus crisis. She continued...

"...and so nourishing. Being shut in... it has meant so much. In this awful crisis it is a wonderful thing to know there indeed are folks who care and go out of their normal routine to help others!" (emphasis in the original)

Another lady, who is 89, sent us a beautiful thank you card addressed to, "Wonderful People" which says:

"You are the great blessing that I have to thank you for these wonderful meals that I enjoy. My prayers are for all of you who are responsible for this wonderful service."

My team has the privilege of preparing these meals -- thousands daily during this crisis and well over 200,000 since the stay-home shutdown began. Many times, people are shocked that someone cares enough to provide them with a real, chef-quality meal.

We also receive notes like these. But in a very real way, friends like you are the ones who deserve the thanks. As this dear lady said, we know there is a great team across the country of faithful friends who "are responsible for this wonderful service."

We are now in our EIGHTH WEEK of non-stop meal service in the midst of this coronavirus crisis. The need is great and the calls keep coming. Our only limit is financial resources. Will you partner with Mercy Chefs right now to help those who are facing such difficult times during this coronavirus crisis while we continue other vital efforts? Go here to make your tax-deductible gift:

As I've noted to you this week, we are at a very challenging stage in this effort. It is absolutely critical that we continue what we're doing and even expand to reach more folks who have been impacted by this crisis.

Your support makes it possible for Mercy Chefs to bring hope and healing to thousands every day! Thank you so much for your prayers and for your faithful partnership with Mercy Chefs!

P.S. The front of the card from the 89-year-old lady features a beautiful painting of flowers and birds. Here's what she wrote as a "P.S." to her note:

"The flowers and birds, as the ones picture here, make the world more beautiful. Consider yourself as the ones who make the world more beautiful at this time."
