Thank you so much for your partnership with Mercy Chefs during what has been one of the most challenging and rewarding seasons in our history. Your faithfulness has equipped our team to respond to disaster and expand to meet the growing need in more ways than ever already this year.
The latest issue of SURGE -- Mercy Chefs' e-newsletter for our friends and partners -- covers some of the highlights from recent months, including our response to what is being called the disaster of the century.
Hurricane Dorian's catastrophic blow was unlike any disaster we have seen. This issue of SURGE details how your support helped Mercy Chefs respond to this crisis, including serving more than 65,000 hot meals. The newsletter also provides an update on the opening of our first Community Kitchen as well as a very touching story from one of our volunteers working with us in Panama City. We've also included one of our most popular recipes in our Dinner in a SNAP series. Click here for more details.
As we move to the final weeks of 2019, I am so grateful that Mercy Chefs can count on friends like you from across the country. Your prayers and support have made it possible for us to feed "body and soul" in so many ways this year. With your help, we will continue to respond to communities in crisis with hot meals and God's love.
Thank you once again and God bless you
Gary LeBlanc
P.S. As you'll see from this issue of SURGE, Mercy Chefs has been able to respond to the devastation in the Bahamas in a major way. But our work continues. As I write, Mercy Chefs is helping to bring relief to Abaco -- the hardest-hit island in the Bahamas -- as part of the plan to rebuild. We still need your help! Go here to help us provide critical relief to hurricane victims on Abaco, and thanks for your partnership.
