I want you to hear what happened when a woman whose community had been devastated by the flooding came to Mercy Chefs this week. According to Janette, our Volunteer Coordinator, this woman had been trying to help feed her neighbors but was simply overwhelmed by the need.

"She just cried on my shoulders asking for help," said Janette.

Here is the rest of the story:

The news media will soon move on from Kentucky, but the people here still need our support. I want to answer every cry for help that we're hearing from this flood-ravaged community. But to do so, I need your help!

Through this weekend, Mercy Chefs will serve thousands of meals to flood victims and volunteers. Will you help by sponsoring 10, 20, 50, 100 or more hot meals for flood victims this weekend? Go here to make your tax-deductible gift:

These deployments are very emotional. We meet folks who have just lost loved ones or have seen their homes destroyed by a disaster. Many are shellshocked. But time and time again, the wonderful, chef-quality meals you are helping to provide bring them hope. Many are shocked that someone cares enough to provide for them a meal as good as what they would cook in their homes. Their countenance is lifted. Some break down and weep in gratitude. All because of friends like you.

Thank you so much for all you are doing. Your prayers and support are making a difference in the lives of flood victims here.

God bless,

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
