In what is being called the largest natural disaster in Brazil's history, 
hundreds of thousands are facing desperate conditions after historic flooding hit the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The worst effects were felt in Porto Alegre, where a majority of the population is suffering from the effects of the torrential rains.
