MERCY CHEFS IS DEPLOYING to bring relief to Hurricane Zeta victims.

The storm came ashore along the Louisiana-Mississippi Gulf Coast as a strong CAT-2 storm. Power outages are widespread (reports indicated more than 2 million lost power) which will further complicate any recovery efforts.

Yesterday evening we finalized our plans to deploy to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi -- a coastal community that was hit hard by Zeta. I chose this site because this is where I served after Katrina. The people here are still carrying the scars of that storm, and now must recover from Zeta which brought a 12-foot storm surge to their communities.

2020 just won't stop! And Mercy Chefs will not stop responding to the call for help. Two mobile kitchens are arriving today from Oklahoma and Alabama, and I fully expect to be serving our first meals FOR DINNER THIS AFTERNOON.

Our human, physical and financial resources have been stretched like perhaps never before in Mercy Chefs' history.
