Mercy Chefs is deploying in response to a very dangerous wildfire that is impacting and threatening communities in northwest New Mexico.

The fire has already consumed over 200 square miles and the flames are now within a few miles of Las Vegas, a community of about 13,000 people that is scrambling to safeguard people and property.  According to the Associated Press:

"The blaze is expected to keep growing, putting it on track to possibly be one of the largest and most destructive in the state’s recorded history."

++ We have DEPLOYED to help NM wildfire victims...

Our Mercy Chefs mobile kitchen arrived earlier this morning and I am on the ground now assessing the situation with the goal of serving meals as soon as possible.

Fire responses always carry an extra element of danger and can change in a moment's notice as the winds shift. As we deploy, I'm asking you to partner with Mercy Chefs to provide hot meals to emergency workers and families displaced and impacted by this fire. Go here to make your tax-deductible gift:

I hope to be serving meals within the next 24-48 hours and will have more details soon. For now, please help us respond to the first major wildfire of the year.

Thank you and God bless,

Gary
