My team on the ground in Honduras says the conditions are desperate. There is still widespread flooding and loss of basic services. Streets are flooded.
Many people have been forced to live in the mud. There are so many roads washed out that it is difficult to even get help to some communities, but they urgently need support.
All weekend, our team reached out to some of the hardest hit people and distributed hot meals, survival packs, sleep mats, and supplies for the children.
How all of this is impacting the children breaks my heart. Everything has been disrupted. Their families have lost homes and many are living in tents. In one of the communities we are serving, the local school was destroyed.
This week, our team is meeting with local officials who are searching for ways to get life for the kids back to some semblance of "normal." They need school supplies urgently.
These people need our help!
The Lord has placed Mercy Chefs right in the midst of one of the most urgent areas of need right now. I want to do more, but we need faithful friends to partner with us right now.
Thanks in advance for standing with Mercy Chefs as we stand with the people of Honduras.
God bless,
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
P.S. The photo below was taken at one of our meal distributions this weekend. When our team arrives in a community, people line up. Many are in very serious need, but they are always so grateful. Thanks so much for your partnership.
