Tornado damage is so extreme. The EF-3 that blew through Dallas earlier this week left a very significant amount of destruction and debris in its path. Given the level of damage, it is truly a miracle that there was no loss of life.
For many families in the path of the storm, it will be weeks or months before life begins to return to normal. And that's where Mercy Chefs steps in.
Yesterday, we served hundreds of meals, including special deliveries in the affected neighborhoods to victims, volunteers, and relief teams. There’s nothing more special to us than the smile that crosses someone’s face when they open one of our meal boxes to see a beautiful, nutritious meal that is so much more than a meal. It's tangible hope and encouragement to help them through the difficult times.
Today and through the weekend, our Mercy Chefs team will continue to extend hope and hot meals to victims and volunteers. This is a critical time for the storm victims, as they sort through the debris and begin to map their road to recovery.
As always, we are working with local volunteers who partner with our Mercy Chefs team to help prepare and serve these meals. 
We believe that neighbors helping neighbors -- with the support of a network of faithful friends like you across the country -- is the best path on the road to recovery.
