This is tragic. Lake Charles has been hit again. This time by devastating flooding. See below. --Gary
The people of Lake Charles NEED OUR HELP!
Yesterday, Southwest Louisiana was hit by devastating flooding. More rain has already fallen in the Lake Charles area than during the two hurricanes last year -- and more rain is expected.
The rains came suddenly. By last night, Lake Charles had received over 12 inches of rain. Streets were flooded in minutes and emergency officials have received more than 100 rescue calls. One official added that there are still many "blue roofs" from tarps covering homes damaged from last year's hurricanes. Now, the rains and the flooding are pummeling these dear folks once again.
+ + We are deploying today and need your help!
Mercy Chefs deployed TWO TIMES to Lake Charles last year in response to the hurricanes. So when I received an urgent call for help from the city's mayor, I knew we had to respond. As I write, we are assembling our team and equipment for immediate deployment to Lake Charles. I hope to be serving meals by TOMORROW. Now, I need your help.
Will you partner with Mercy Chefs right now so we can rush relief to the good people of Lake Charles who are being hit so hard once again? Go here to make your tax-deductible gift to Mercy Chefs as we deploy to help flood victims and continue other outreaches:
Severe weather is sweeping across the entire region, so we ask that you join us in praying for our dear friends being affected from Dallas to Houston to Lake Charles. In fact, more rain is expected today in Lake Charles and the entire region is under a Flash Flood Watch for the entire week.
Thank you so much for partnering with Mercy Chefs, and may God bless you richly!
God bless,
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
P.S. We could be serving thousands of meals within 24-36 hours. Please help today by sponsoring 10, 20, 50 or even 100 meals. Go here:
