As I'm sure you know, a massive earthquake has left thousands dead and tens if not hundreds of thousands facing extreme hardship in Turkey and Syria.

One earthquake victim said the strike was "like the apocalypse." Search and rescue workers are digging through rubble for survivors while also fighting frigid temperatures. The people are in shock and they urgently need our help.

Mercy Chefs is deploying to help provide relief in the region. I directed my team to immediately disburse emergency relief funds to our partners in the region. This morning, Mercy Chefs' Advance Team is departing for the region where we will meet with our partners and make assessments of the most critical relief needs.
