The Weather Channel declared Lake Charles as the most "weather battered city" in all of America -- after two hurricanes, an ice storm and now this week's HISTORIC FLOODING in less than a year.
The flooding came suddenly. One family had to SWIM from their flooded house with their newborn baby just to survive the rising waters.
As many as 500 homes were impacted. Areas that didn't flood even during the hurricanes were under water. There are huge piles out in front of house after house. Many of these families will be forced to start over once again.

The past 36 hours have been a whirlwind since our arrival in Lake Charles. We’ve responded swiftly. 
This community is weary after a painful past nine months. That's why the meals we are serving are so vital. It's as if we are serving HOPE to those who are in need. A hot, chef-prepared meal sends a message that these folks have not been forgotten... they are not alone... and someone cares enough to provide them with a high-quality meal.
