Over the weekend, I was interviewed by FoxNews regarding our work in Lake Charles in response to Hurricane Delta.
Go here to see that interview:
Since our redeployment to Lake Charles for Delta relief, Mercy Chefs served more than 54,000 meals to disaster victims and volunteers. As I've noted to you, the people of Southwest Louisiana were very much in shock from getting hit by two major hurricanes in a span of weeks. Due to this trauma from two storms, the demand for meals was far in excess of our expectations. But thanks to friends like you, we have been able to meet the need.
As I write, Mercy Chefs's efforts in Lake Charles are transitioning to a long-term strategy designed to help this community recover over the course of the coming weeks and months. Our service here has created a deep level of trust between Mercy Chefs and local leaders that I believe will bear fruit in the long term. This is what happened in Panama City, where Mercy Chefs is still partnering with local leaders to provide practical relief.
I will be sharing more with you in the coming days. For today, thank you so much for your prayers and faithful support!
God bless,
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
