Have I ever shared my story with you?

Sometimes we get so busy with the critical needs that Mercy Chefs is meeting every day that I forget to share with our dear friends and supporters how the Lord got hold of my heart and the amazing events that led up to the launch of this ministry.

I recently sat down for an interview with HeartThreads, a wonderful organization that produces short videos that tell inspiring stories. The interview gave me a chance to share my story.

Here it is...

+ + Still need your help this month...

Truth be told, we still need your help to finish this month strong. As I write, Mercy Chefs team members are preparing hot meals for schoolchildren in Panama City who are still struggling to recover from Hurricane Michael. The school superintendent is reporting that  3,300 students are still "homeless or displaced form the storm" and "more and more of our children are coming to school hungry."

Mercy Chefs is there -- every day -- providing support in the form of hot meals for victims as well as the volunteers who are helping this community rebuild.

Our teams are also providing hot meals to hurting inner-city kids who would otherwise go without food during the school day. And we continue to provide support and resources through our partners who are reaching out in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and Haiti.

This month alone, Mercy Chefs will serve more than 10,000 meals. And every meal relies on the generous support of friends like you!

Will you help me finish this month strong so we can meet the needs of those still recovering from disaster while we continue other vital efforts? If you could sponsor 20 meals (just $50) today it would be a great blessing. Perhaps you could do more by sponsoring 40 ($100) or even 100 meals ($250). Go here to make your tax-deductible gift to help provide hot meals right now:

Back in 2005, I responded to Hurricane Katrina in the only way I knew -- I helped serve meals to hurting people, but inside of me, something much bigger happened. A vision to "just feed people" was born. Now, more than 2 million meals later, I have an even greater passion for bringing hot, chef-prepared meals to hurting people. But I need your help!

Thanks in advance, and God bless you!
