Friday Afternoon
Just a quick update as we head into a challenging weekend. We just added 1,000 meals today and I fully expect that we could increase our meal total again by another 1,000 or even 2,000 meals by tomorrow.
That means we're facing a significant challenge this weekend. Today through Sunday, we'll serve over 20,000 meals and the bills are starting to stack up. Another truckload of food will arrive tomorrow. We need help from friends across the country to keep pace with the growing demand.
Can you sponsor meals for hurricane victims today? Your gift of just $50 will help us provide 20 hot meals. If you can contribute $100 we'll serve 40 meals; $250 means 100 meals prepared and delivered; $1,000 will help us reach 400 hurricane victims. Go here to make your tax-deductible gift directly to Mercy Chefs, and see below for my earlier report on conditions at "ground zero" of Hurricane Laura's strike, where Mercy Chefs meals are meeting a critical need right now.
Thanks, and God bless!

P.S. One of the people we're serving in Cameron Parish told our team, "I can't even tell you what a hot meal means. It gives people here hope." Thanks for helping Mercy Chefs bring hope to this devastated region.
