It's shocking that 17 million American households struggle to put food on the table. Families with children are most likely to be coming up short in the midst of the staggering rise in food prices.

That means kids are the innocent victims of inflation and other economic forces that are crushing American families.

That's why Mercy Chefs is stepping up this school year to provide tens of thousands of meals to kids in need and their families. Our back-to-school efforts began earlier this month with special activities such as an outreach that distributed 500 meals to needy children. We've also equipped thousands of kids with backpacks to take back to school.

Perhaps most importantly, Mercy Chefs is serving thousands of meals every month to kids through after-school meal programs that get help to children where they need it the most.

Many of these children rely on a hot meal from Mercy Chefs so they won't go to bed hungry.
