HURRICANE DEBBY ALERT: WE ARE DEPLOYING!

Florida and the southeast coast are being battered by Hurricane Debby, and Mercy Chefs is deploying.

Debby just made landfall along Florida's Big Bend as a Category 1 storm, bringing widespread power outages and flash flooding across the region.

+ + Storm stalling; historic rains

The greatest concern surrounding this storm is that forecasters are saying Debby will STALL and dump possible multiple FEET of rain on areas from Florida up the coast to South Carolina.

As this ABC News graphic shows, Debby could still be unloading inches of rain on the southeastern seaboard all the way through Saturday!

+ + How Mercy Chefs is responding...

Yesterday, we began moving our mobile kitchen vehicles along with staff to the very edge of where this storm was making landfall. I am also headed to the Big Bend region. By tomorrow, Mercy Chefs will be deployed in Florida, providing thousands of meals to those in need.

We also have a second Mercy Chefs team on standby as we closely watch the path of this storm. If Debby stalls as forecasters are predicting, it is very likely that Mercy Chefs will also be deploying to a second location further up the seaboard where 20-30 inches of rain are anticipated.

This is precisely when we need help from friends like you!

Contributions during the first 72 hours of every deployment are CRITICAL. Can you help today? Go here to help sponsor meals for those in the path of Hurricane Debby:

Finally, please pray for those in the path of this storm, and pray for our team as we deploy.

Thank you in advance for your help, and may God bless you!

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
