Hurricane Helene is building into a massive storm and is projected to make landfall in Florida later today as a Category 4 storm, with some of the worst impacts hitting the densely populated Tallahassee area.

Forecasters are bracing for "catastrophic" storm surge (up to 20 feet) along the coast, extensive flooding, and high winds extending far inland. This is a major hurricane that will have devastating impacts across Florida and to inland areas.

+ + Mercy Chefs has deployed

On Tuesday, I directed our team to mobilize both key staff and our mobile feeding fleet in preparation for Helene. Today, Mercy Chefs is already feeding first responders both lunch and dinner. This is the first time we have served meals to emergency personnel before a storm has hit.

We are anticipating that this will be an ALL-HANDS-ON-DECK response for Mercy Chefs. We already have a second team with additional mobile kitchen resources on stand-by.

+ + I need your help today...

The first 72 hours after a major storm hits are the most critical. This is why Mercy Chefs is mobilized and ready to serve. Now, I NEED YOUR HELP!

Specifically, I'm hoping at least 1,000 friends will stand with us in the next 24 hours so we can serve the most possible meals in the areas of greatest need as this storm comes ashore.

Can I count on you TODAY to help Mercy Chefs?

Go here to sponsor meals and help Mercy Chefs as we get ready to serve those impacted by Helene:

Also, please be praying for the folks in Helene's expected path. If this storm hits the Tallahassee area, it could be catastrophic. Another strike along Florida's Big Bend would be devastating as well.

I'll have more details for you soon.

Thank you for your prayers and support.

God bless,

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
