The situation here is as desperate and difficult as we've ever faced...
I can't even tell you how many people we've fed in the past 24 hours who told us they HADN'T HAD A MEAL IN FOUR DAYS.
Today, we're pushing our capacity -- 15,000 HOT MEALS! Our Mercy Chefs team is working all day to meet the need. We had 5,500 meals ready by 10:30 THIS MORNING. And it never stops. As fast as we can prepare them, the meals are reaching Ida victims who have no place else to turn! We are in an area of immense need and we have not yet seen other relief organizations here. Just Mercy Chefs. And word is spreading. Our cell phones are ringing all night with urgent calls for help.
I just got a call from Killian (northwest of our location) pleading with us for food and water. My contact there says HALF THE HOMES still are under FEET OF WATER and they've received ZERO OUTSIDE HELP! This is yet another desperate cry for help that Mercy Chefs must answer!
I'm issuing an EMERGENCY CALL to every friend of Mercy Chefs. WE NEED YOUR PARTNERSHIP RIGHT NOW so we can do everything we can to meet these urgent needs!

The costs are astronomical. We are going through truckloads and truckloads of groceries -- 97 cases of chicken... GONE! 11,000 pieces of bread... in and out of the oven. 
And there seems to be no end to the need here. As soon as we get one delivery, it's gone within a day and I must order more. But each shipment costs THOUSANDS of dollars!
Despite the difficulties, your support is equipping Mercy Chefs to bring practical relief AND hope to folks who feel like they've been forgotten. As I noted, we haven't seen nearly enough relief efforts coming to help, and we are in an area of immense need where people have gone without food for days.

But when he returned home, his house had caught on fire from his generator. Tragedy upon tragedy. Again, there is NO END to the need. Please help.
