IMPORTANT -- IDALIA HAS HIT FLORIDA. MERCY CHEFS HAS ALREADY DEPLOYED. GO HERE TO SPONSOR MEALS AND SEE BELOW. --GARY

Idalia hit Florida's Big Bend as a CATEGORY 3 storm this morning with record breaking winds and storm surge not seen in that area in 125 years.

Our team is en route to Live Oak, Florida, where we will be working out of an area high school with local partners and the Emergency Operations Center of Florida as a primary meal provider for the state.

+ + Hundreds of thousands without power

Nearly 270,000 people are without power and over 5,000 people have taken refuge in shelters. Mercy Chefs is responding with our largest mobile kitchen and a fully staffed team ready to serve thousands of hot nutritious meals per day to hurricane victims, search and rescue teams, first responders, and volunteers.

Our first meals will be provided TOMORROW MORNING to some 750 search and rescue personnel that are working from this same base of operations.

Mercy Chefs is on the very front lines of the relief efforts. Go here to help provide hot meals to Idalia victims, emergency responders and volunteers:

Again, our first meals will be served TOMORROW MORNING. We are setting up at the heart of where the eye of the storm moved through and will immediately be feeding emergency workers.

Please PRAY and help as you can.
