Israel is on the brink of a three-front war with rising tensions to the north, the west, and along the southern border with Gaza. Yesterday, Hamas attempted to once again invade Israel, this time by sea. Also, leaders of Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad met together to coordinate how to "achieve real victory" against Israel.
Our Mercy Chefs team is reaching out with hot meals across Israel, including to communities along the border of Gaza. During these deliveries, we are meeting amazing people who are doing whatever they can to help their neighbors.
+ + Meet Anya... inside a bomb shelter
Anya (pictured here with one of our staff members) came to Israel from Ukraine 20 years ago and now finds herself in the unexpected role of running a bomb shelter. Every night, she brings the keys to the shelter and waits for people to arrive. Families from the surrounding area take refuge here so they can sleep without fear of being bombed in their homes. Anya is doing everything she can to help the families. She even has decorated the bomb shelter to give it some sense of the comforts of home.
I'm honored that -- thanks to you -- our Mercy Chefs team has been able to provide Anya and these families with hot, chef-prepared meals.
Our team is back on the border delivering meals today. Will you help Mercy Chefs continue this lifeline of hope and practical support for the people of Israel? Just $70 can help sponsor 20 meals for Israeli families who are still sleeping every night in bomb shelters. Go here to help families in Israel:
Please pray for the people here. Israel is a relatively small country. With attacks on every border and rockets still reaching central cities, all of Israel is a war zone.
Also, pray for our team. During our deliveries near the border, the ground often shakes from the rocket fire taking place in the vicinity.
Thank you in advance for your continued support, and may God bless you.
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
P.S. Anya is doing whatever she can to help her neighbors in Israel. Will you do what you can today to help Israeli families? Perhaps you can sponsor 10 meals ($35) or 100 meals ($350). Every gift will help. Go here:
