Over the years, Mercy Chefs has been blessed to develop friendships with national organizations and leaders who support our mission and often join with us to serve in the midst of disaster.
Yesterday, Ivanka Trump (pictured here with Lee County Sheriff, Carmine Marceno) came to Fort Myers and served alongside our team as we continued to reach out to this devastated region. Ivanka is a friend of Mercy Chefs who has supported our work and also teamed with us on a prior deployment.
It was an encouragement to our entire team to have Ivanka work the service line with us and also have her personally delivering Mercy Chefs meals -- meals you helped provide -- to those in need.
+ + Historic storm, overwhelming need
Hurricane Ian dealt a devastating blow to this entire region. Many of the folks here are just now beginning to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives as they try to chart a course forward.
Thanks to you, Mercy Chefs has been here on site serving meals since within 24 hours of Ian's landfall. As of this morning, we are approaching an amazing milestone -- 200,000 meals served.
At times, the need has been overwhelming, and the expenses have been enormous. We can still use your help in support of everything we've done here in Fort Myers. Go here to make your tax-deductible gift in support of Hurricane Ian relief and our ongoing efforts to feed people in crisis:
Finally, please keep praying for the people here. Power has been restored for just about everyone, but the recovery will be ongoing. In fact, in some areas, it still looks like the hurricane hit yesterday.
Thank you so much for your partnership and faithful support.
God bless,
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
