I trust you had a great Thanksgiving. I'm contacting you today because the crisis in Honduras is that desperate, and core friends like you make it possible for Mercy Chefs to respond.
The situation is only worsening. The main airport has remained closed which has made travel difficult. More water supply lines are broken, meaning many people are having to use water from creeks and rivers just to survive. Mercy Chefs' water filtration units are a lifesaver, but we must do more.
To make matters worse, it has continued to rain much of this week, causing new flooding in homes that were just cleaned. There is mud everywhere. Everything feels overwhelming.
Due to the difficult conditions, we had to reschedule our Mercy Chefs team members (including one of our chefs) to arrive on Monday. I want to send them with every possible resource so we can reach even more people. But to do so, I need help from friends like you.
Will you partner with Mercy Chefs this holiday weekend to help those who are hurting so desperately in Honduras? Go here to make your tax-deductible gift directly to Mercy Chefs:
If you've already donated to help our Honduras effort, THANK YOU SO MUCH! If you can give again, we will put your faithful support to work. If you haven't yet donated, please do so today. Every gift will make a difference. Just $30 can help feed three families of four for five days!
Most of all, please pray for the people of Honduras. This is a desperate situation. They need God's help, and ours!
God bless,
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
P.S. As I've noted, we took on two shelters in Comayagua. We're serving hot meals there and are also providing necessities like toiletries, medicine, baby supplies, and clothing. Even shoes. The need is desperate. These folks have lost everything, and yet they are so grateful for the help your support is providing. Thanks in advance for your help this weekend. Go here:
P.P.S. This woman is pointing out to our team member just how high the floodwaters came. The situation here is desperate. Thanks for your help.
