Last week, I made a special announcement regarding our Ukraine relief efforts.
+ + Major commitment to Ukraine...
Based on the need we are still seeing every day and the signs of the war's devastation that are so evident across the country, I recently committed for Mercy Chefs to continue supporting Ukraine relief efforts into 2023! This is an enormous commitment, especially since millions have returned back to Ukraine even while war hostilities are ongoing.
When war broke out in late February and I first traveled to Ukraine, Mercy Chefs never could have foreseen conducting such a long-term relief effort. I am amazed how the Lord has opened doors for Mercy Chefs to deliver THREE MILLION pounds of food and supplies to both refugees and those deep inside Ukraine.
Now, I need your help to keep this lifeline for Ukraine war victims going! This week, we'll deliver another 100,000 pounds of food and supplies. But we need YOUR SUPPORT! Go here to make your tax-deductible gift and support those suffering from Russia's war against Ukraine:
+ + Ukraine's Independence Day cancelled...
Things are so tense inside Ukraine that President Zelensky just banned gatherings and public celebrations as Ukraine marks 31 years of independence from Russia tomorrow. Kiev residents will not be allowed to gather in public. The city of Kharkiv will be under a strict curfew in fear of Russian attacks coinciding with the anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
Life is not back to "normal" for the people of Ukraine. That's why what we are doing is so vital.
Mercy Chefs is fully engaged in bringing relief. We helped establish the warehouse on the Romania-Ukraine border. We are working with our partners to stock that warehouse and then distribute food to our network of contacts inside Ukraine. With your help, we've created a critical supply line for the Ukrainian people. Now I need your help to keep this life-giving supply line stocked!
Thanks in advance, and God bless,
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
P.S. Pictured above are some of the children Mercy Chefs has helped this summer. We are serving as a key supply line for refugees as well as orphanages in Western Ukraine that are providing a place of safety for those fleeing the front lines of this war. People inside Ukraine are depending on what Mercy Chefs and our partners are doing this week. Please help. Go here:
