This month I am facing a major decision.

As I'm sure you know, shortly after the coronavirus crisis began, Mercy Chefs began our participation in the "Farmers to Families" food box program. At the time, we had no idea how far-reaching the program would become, but in the succeeding weeks it exploded across several states and helped result in Mercy Chefs providing nearly EIGHT MILLION meals in 2020.

We never could have anticipated this, nor could I have expected that we would come to February 2021 with the nation still being gripped in an economic disaster. Each week, new unemployment claims approach 1 million. As of last week, 17.8 million Americans were still relying on government benefits.

The fact is, the coronavirus crisis has created a national economic disaster for millions of Americans that has lasted for months and seems to have no end in sight.

Week after week, we are seeing the faces of this need -- good people who have lost jobs and homes and just can't make ends meet. Many don't know where their next meal will come from.

+ + 370,063 meals last week alone...

Last week, we saw yet another major increase in the Farmers to Families outreach. It's almost unbelievable, but Mercy Chefs provided 370,063 meals just last week. In the coming weeks, I expect those numbers will increase to 500,000 or even 600,000 meals weekly. This week, we are adding distributions in Wyoming and we are also on the verge of a major breakthrough that will allow us to provide hundreds of thousands more meals up and down the East Coast from Virginia to Florida where the need is great.

As you can see, the Lord is opening doors, and as a result I am facing a major decision this month: walk through the open doors in faith or shrink back in fear. Years ago after I started Mercy Chefs, I faced a similar crossroads and I told the Lord I would step through the doors He opens to feed people and reach people in their urgent time of need.

So once again, we are stepping out in faith to reach our neighbors here at home who need our help. Specifically, we need $50,000 in new support over and above our other commitments this month to continue and expand the "Farmers to Families" programs.

Would you prayerfully consider helping Mercy Chefs in a special way right now so we can once again expand to meet the need that is before us? Every gift will help -- $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or more -- however the Lord leads.

Go here to partner with Mercy Chefs to help provide life-supporting meals for hurting folks during this crisis, while we continue other efforts:

+ + Just $50 will help us feed 100 people...

Because we are leveraging resources to maximize our effectiveness and reach, your gift of $50 will on average help us feed 100 people; $75 helps feed 150 people, $100 will get a meal to 200 people. Perhaps you can do more -- $500 will provide 1,000 meals and $1,000 will help us distribute 2,000 meals.

Every gift will make a difference as we step out in faith to meet the incredible need in our country right now.

I'll be sharing more soon, but right now I need help so we can meet the demand for meals here in America THIS WEEK!

Thanks for your prayers, and thanks in advance for your financial support.

God bless,

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs

P.S. I just saw a report that 1 million more moms are out of work today than one year ago, and 30% of all small business owners say they don't think their business will survive. America is gripped in a prolonged DISASTER that is devastating families. Please help Mercy Chefs provide hope to hundreds of thousands this month.

P.P.S. If the Lord has blessed you and you can make a special gift at this time of $1,000, $2,000 or more, now is a great time!  Your gift will help as we launch in new locations with the major expenses of renting the refrigerated truck and the driver and warehouse costs. This "Farmers to Families" program leverages your giving to reach even more people. Go here to make your gift online, or for instructions on how to make your gift by check.
