As the families of Fultondale, Alabama, continue to pick up the pieces of their lives after an EF-3 tornado ripped through their town, our Mercy Chefs teams have been there to provide hot meals and hear heartbreaking stories.

We learned of a man whose home was decimated by a massive tree during the tornado. It ripped through his house and trapped him. For five hours, firefighters worked to rescue him. Thankfully, they saved his life but had to call on a surgeon to remove his foot to free him. Here's the home...

All weekend, Mercy Chefs teams served as the lead food provider in response to this tornado (at the request of Alabama emergency officials). We've had two mobile kitchens deployed along with several key staff members and a team of volunteers from our local church partner, Church of the Highlands.

There's still more work to be done here and more meals to prepare and serve. We still need help. As you know, we rely on the faithful partnership of friends like you who make it possible for Mercy Chefs to deploy within hours of a storm and provide the critical supply of food and other essentials that are needed in the aftermath of a disaster.
