Saturday Morning from Lake Charles, LA

Here is my latest video from Lake Charles:

We've already faced many obstacles with no power or water for miles and miles (see below for more). Here's the good news -- our Mercy Chefs team is working as fast as possible to serve our first meals TODAY AT LUNCH!

Many people here are facing desperate situations. We saw a man in a wheel chair in his front yard with no place to go. Soon, he'll have a hot, chef-prepared meal from Mercy Chefs. We ran across an elderly lady who asked us if we were selling food. I told her, "No, ma'am, we're here to feed you." She then shared that she had been stuck in her house with no power and her cell phone was about to run out. We charged her phone and our team has taken a personal interest in caring for her needs for the time we're in Lake Charles.

It's been difficult, but with your help we are overcoming. Our plan is to be serving 10,000-15,000 meals every day as soon as possible, but to do so we are going to need the help of every Mercy Chefs friend. Go here to make your tax-deductible gift to help us provide hot meals to hurricane victims and volunteers here in Lake Charles, and click here for more information from our previous update.

P.S. Again, we'll be serving our first meals TODAY AT LUNCH. Everything has been difficult, but our entire team takes great encouragement from the faithful support of Mercy Chefs partners like you. If you can help us this weekend, it would be a great blessing. Go here:
