We are starting to see some breakthroughs here in the Bahamas. First, the meeting with Prime Minister Hubert Minnis was very productive. It was a great opportunity to connect with potential partners as we continue to help bring relief in the most hurricane-devastated islands of Grand Bahama and Abaco.

+ + Prime Minister: "I know Mercy Chefs"

Because friends like like you have made it possible for Mercy Chefs to serve more than 65,000 meals here, the quality and importance of our work is already well established in the minds of Bahamian government officials. In fact, Prime Minister Minnis openly expressed his gratefulness for the work of Mercy Chefs and the quality of our food. He told me...

"I know Mercy Chefs. I saw your food last week and wanted to eat it instead of the lunch they were taking me to. Thank you. Thank you for all you have done."

Yesterday, we headed back to Abaco where in many areas the devastation is complete.
Our goal was to once again connect with the pastors and churches who are trying to help lead the effort of rebuilding. Specifically, we are looking at churches as a potential base of operations for Mercy Chefs to support this vital work. We also made progress on Grand Bahama and are getting close to expanding our efforts there.

There are still more details to finalize, but I am now preparing my team for the next major phase of our deployment here. The need is just still so overwhelming we simply must press forward. But to do so I need friends like you who will partner with us during what will be a very challenging and costly phase of outreach on the hardest hit islands.

Would you consider making a special gift this weekend to help Mercy Chefs as we work to establish a base of operations at the epicenter of the hardest hit areas in the Bahamas? Go here to make your tax-deductible gift to help Mercy Chefs reach those hardest hit by this devastating hurricane while we continue other efforts:

After serving 65,000 meals and conducting two simultaneous disaster outreaches over the past month, our resources are being stretched and we need your help. Everything we do depends on the generosity and support of a faithful core of friends like you.

Also, please continue to pray for the people of the Bahamas. For many, the full weight of the difficulty of the long road to recovery is now setting in. But the pastors we are speaking with are digging in. This is their home. These are their people. In times of great difficulty, we can trust a great God to come through!

Thank you so much for your partnership, and God bless you.
