As I write, it's Day 15 and we're still providing upwards of 5,000 meals every day in Eastern Kentucky. As we head into the weekend, I have a simple request:
We're looking for about 500 friends to help sponsor the meals we'll serve through this weekend.
Can you help?
Every gift will make a difference. Just $35 will help us serve TEN HOT MEALS to families here. Perhaps you can sponsor more ($70 sponsors 20 meals; $140 sponsor 40 meals; $350 sponsors 100 meals).
+ + "I love that you provide 'meal' meals..."
Mercy Chefs' mission is to provide chef-quality meals to those facing disaster and hardship. We are always amazed by what happens when we hand-deliver a nutritious, hot meal to someone facing tough times.
Here's what April said about the meals you are providing:
"I love that y'all provide 'meal' meals. Hearty fare, not just sandwiches and hamburgers/ hotdogs. Yes, anything is something when you are hungry. But these 'meal' meals hit the stomach and heart a little different."
Sherwin wrote to say:
"I would like to take time to thank all of the people of Mercy Chefs who work continuously from early in the morning until late in the night without complaining or expecting a thank you. You will never know what a great impact you have left on our community. I can tell God is definitely guiding your ship."
Friends like you helped make the meals April and Sherwin received possible. Through this weekend, we'll deliver thousands more meals -- each affirming the dignity of a person going through a tough time.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
