We still need sponsors for the Thanksgiving dinners we are serving this weekend in Fort Myers. Please go here to help and see below for more. --Gary
Our team is back in Fort Myers getting ready to serve up to 6,000 holiday meals starting TOMORROW to those in this community who are still recovering from Hurricane Ian.
Here in Lee County, many families are just beginning the long journey to restore their lives after one of the worst hurricanes ever to come ashore in the U.S. This weekend, we can serve this community in a tangible way that will help brighten the holidays.
+ + Take our Thanksgiving challenge...
Many friends of Mercy Chefs have taken up our challenge of matching what their family will spend on Thanksgiving dinner with a corresponding gift to Mercy Chefs. Most families spend between $100 and $200 on their Thanksgiving meal. If you can match the $100 you'll spend on your Thanksgiving with an equal gift to Mercy Chefs, we'll feed FIVE FAMILIES of four! Perhaps you can do more. Every gift will help.
Our holiday outreaches are among the most important efforts of our entire year. This can be an extremely difficult time for families who are still trying to put the pieces of their lives back together. That's why during the holidays, Mercy Chefs returns to areas that have been hit hard by disaster and we serve FULL holiday meals with all the fixings.
In addition to the full holiday meals, we often bring gifts and other surprises for the kids. It is a great joy to see young faces light up during the holidays, no matter how difficult their circumstances may be.
Thank you so much for your help as we reach out during the holiday season.
God bless you,
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
P.S. This weekend's Thanksgiving outreach for Florida hurricane victims launches our holiday efforts that will extend into next month and reach thousands of people. Thank you in advance for your prayers and financial support!
