As our team is wrapping up two tornado deployments here in the States, Mercy Chefs is simultaneously embarking on what I believe will prove to be a huge breakthrough for food relief
across the globe.
+ + Feeding and training...
Today, I'm in transit to Honduras where we are officially launching Mercy Chefs' new, state-of-the-art, feeding and training kitchen. This kitchen is a unique facility because it is designed to both provide immediate food relief for a community in urgent need while also serving as a teaching and training center that will equip others.
From this new base, Mercy Chefs will bring practical relief while also multiplying what we do through hundreds and perhaps even thousands of local chefs and outreaches across Latin America.
For the past few days, our team has been conducting training
in food sanitation while also preparing for a full week of outreach. Today, we are feeding area children and families. Tomorrow, we will bring food relief to desperately needy families in the mountainous region. And then Friday, we will host the formal dedication and ribbon cutting for the kitchen.
This is one of the most exciting and inspiring moments in the history of Mercy Chefs. I only wish you could join me in Honduras to see the mothers and fathers and children who are being fed and meet the local chefs who are being equipped. This kitchen will serve as a model that can exponentially increase Mercy Chefs' impact.
