Our team was up early this morning serving the search and rescue teams that are working day and night at the site of the tragic building collapse in South Florida. Here is what Jonathan -- one of our Mercy Chefs' team members (pictured here) -- posted early this morning on social media...
Good Morning from Surfside!! The coffee is fresh. The rain is falling. The dawn is coming and Mercy Chefs are at your service!
Thanks to friends like you, we served more than 2,500 meals this past weekend. We'll provide hundreds more today and tomorrow as the work on the pile of rubble continues. Conditions remain very challenging. Yesterday, the heat index approached 100 degrees and more rain is coming today.
As I noted to you over the weekend, the number of meals we are providing actually increased again. We still need help from friends across the country!
There are now 90 confirmed deaths and the work continues. I can't say enough about the dedication and commitment of these teams. They wear 75 pounds of gear in exhausting conditions, yet they never stop. And with your help, Mercy Chefs won't stop until their work is complete.
Will you partner with us this week to feed these teams? Go here, and thanks in advance.
God bless,
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
