I’m coming to you with a personal request...
Specifically, I need your help between now and the end of this year.
That’s because some faithful friends of Mercy Chefs have stepped forward and extended a $40,000 Matching Challenge Grant to Mercy Chefs that we must meet by December 31. This Challenge also DOUBLES the impact of every dollar you donate right now!
This Year-End Challenge Grant is a godsend because it comes as we finish up one of the most rewarding seasons of outreach in our history and as our opportunities to feed “body and soul” are growing exponentially -- beyond anything we have ever imagined.
+ + 100,000 meals served this Fall alone...
Almost non-stop since Labor Day, Mercy Chefs teams have been providing hot meals to disaster victims and volunteers. For example, we just finished up a major response to the massive Kincaid Fire in northern California. In addition to continuing to provide relief to Hurricane Michael victims in Florida, our teams were among the first to respond to the floods in Texas. And within days of Hurricane Dorian's strike in the Bahamas, Mercy Chefs was on site serving hot meals to tens of thousands who were fleeing devastated Abaco Island.
And now the Lord is opening doors that could result in Mercy Chefs providing tens if not hundreds of thousands of additional hot meals every month to disaster victims and displaced and hurting families. I can’t share all the details yet as some of these situations are highly sensitive. But we simply do not have the resources in our budget to take on these massive new opportunities -- and certainly not after one of the busiest seasons in our history.
That's why I'm turning to key friends of this ministry and asking you to help us meet this special Year-End Matching Challenge.
Please note that every gift made online before the end of the year will count toward the Matching Challenge. If you prefer to write a check, your gift must be postmarked by December 31. Go here for mailing instructions.
+ + This is critical...
As I noted, doors are opening that could greatly expand our outreach to disaster victims and hurting families. For example, my team is gearing up to play a key role in the rebuilding of Abaco -- the most devastated island in the Bahamas --through an innovative plan that will rebuild the churches first as the epicenter of that island's recovery!
This is one of the most amazing, and I believe God-ordained, disaster recovery plans I have ever seen. But we simply do not have this plan to REBUILD ABACO while we expand our domestic outreaches in our normal operating budget. That's why we must meet or even exceed this Year-End Matching Challenge! Can I count on your help?
Perhaps the Lord has blessed you this year and you want to pass that blessing on to others through a gift of $500, $1,000, or more. This is a great way to reduce your 2019 tax burden, extend practical help to hurting families, and have the impact of your gift effectively doubled! Of course, every donation will help, and will count toward meeting this Challenge!
Please prayerfully consider how you can help. Then, go here to make your tax-deductible gift.
Thank you and God bless you!
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
P.S. Please note that this $40,000 commitment from some key friends of this ministry must be fully matched by the end of the year. And as always, your gift to Mercy Chefs -- doubled in impact by this Challenge -- is tax-deductible for this year's taxes. Go here.
