The NOAA just released a report on this year's hurricane season, and they are saying that the pattern of devastating storms "does not show any signs of relenting" after last year's record-breaking year.

Their outlook is projecting "7-10 hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or greater), of which 3-5 could become major hurricanes (Category 3, 4, or 5 with winds 111 mph or greater)." If the La Nina returns, as expected, all bets are off. That's because, according to the NOAA, a La Nina over the Pacific "can contribute to an increase in Atlantic hurricane activity by weakening the wind shear over the Caribbean Sea and tropical Atlantic Basin, which enables storms to develop and intensify."

Let me skip to the end...

I MUST be ready for peak hurricane season, which begins later this month and runs through mid October.

But with SKYROCKETING food costs, the prospects of responding to multiple disasters this fall is a bit daunting. It's possible Mercy Chefs could be deployed with one or two storms in the Atlantic or Gulf, while at the same time mobilizing our West Coast kitchen in response to the building wildfires.

That's why I'm reaching out to you and asking you and other Mercy Chefs friends to help pre-sponsor the first 10,000 meals we'll serve during peak disaster season.

Would you help by sponsoring 10, 20, 50 or 100 meals right now as we get ready for peak disaster season? Go here to make your tax-deductible gift:

The next 60-75 days are critical. Hurricanes historically create the most widespread damage. When entire communities are devastated by winds and flooding, that's when Mercy Chefs must be there.

But to do so, I need your help to GET READY! It costs about $3.50 to provide a chef-prepared meal to a disaster victim. Your gift of $35 can help us get ready to feed 10 people. Just $50 will equip Mercy Chefs to serve about 14 meals during this year's peak disaster season. If you can contribute $105 you'll be helping feed 30 people. Perhaps the Lord has blessed you, and you can sponsor 100 ($350), 200 ($700), or even 350 meals ($1,225).

Every gift will help.

Again, the NOAA is saying the devastating pattern of hurricanes "does not show any signs of relenting" -- and we are just about two weeks from the start of peak hurricane season.

Thanks so much, in advance, for your help!

God bless,

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs

P.S. If you already helped this week, thank you so much! If not, please consider how you can partner with Mercy Chefs as we prepare for peak disaster season, which will be upon us soon. If the forecasters are correct, we could see 7-10 hurricanes, in addition to the wildfires. Go here to sponsor, 10, 20, 50 or even 100 meals:
