Report from Live Oak, Florida

I arrived with our team in Live Oak, Florida, where we are serving meals to those impacted by Hurricane Debby.

Just one year ago, our team set up in Live Oak in response to Hurricane Idalia. It breaks my heart to return to the same place and meet many of the same folks who are, once again, having their lives displaced by a major storm.

As we drove into town, many streets were still flooded and homes were surrounded by water. The rainfall from Debby has been immense, and rain is still falling along the storm's path as Debby is only moving at about 3-5 MPH.

+ + We're serving meals today

Thanks to friends like you, we are serving these families who have been hit twice in the past year hot meals prepared by our chefs and delivered with love.

For our first dinner here, our chefs served Mexican-style chicken with chili lime rice, all of the taco fixings, and fresh oranges.

This is why Mercy Chefs exists -- to bring high-quality meals directly to those facing disaster and hardship. These meals lift hearts and bring hope.

Will you help us deliver hope in the form of hot meals today to families impacted by this storm?  Go here to sponsor 10, 20, 50, or more meals we're serving in the next 24 hours:

One family who received meals that friends like you helped provide wrote to say...

"Our meals were extremely hot when we picked them up. Thank you so very much for providing us a nice hot meal after the mess that we've been through with this hurricane."

Please pray for these communities that have been hit a second time in a year. And help as you can.

God bless,

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
