We are seeing a tremendous community response here in Virginia Beach to the tornado that hit earlier this week. From the local emergency officials to recovery workers to neighbors helping neighbors, this community is coming together to help the families who have been impacted.
+ + More meals this weekend...
Mercy Chefs is here, providing hot meals for both breakfast and lunch today. We're planning for a significant increase in meals as we head into the weekend when the community will be out in full force to assist in the recovery.
If you haven't done so already, would you consider helping to sponsor 10, 20, or even 50 meals? Go here to support tornado relief as we continue other vital efforts:
It's hard to describe the sense of relief the meals you are providing bring to a family trying to pick up the pieces or a recovery worker who has been laboring long hours, often without something decent to eat.
The rain was coming down hard the other day when our team was delivering meals. The faces of those on the receiving end of your generosity just lit up when we handed them a restaurant-quality meal, prepared and served with great care.
Thank you for making it possible for Mercy Chefs to help yet another community that was hit by a tornado this spring while we feed thousands every week both here in America and around the world. May God bless you richly as you bless others.
