A new report indicates that in addition to cutting back on food,
families are being forced to significantly decrease spending on personal hygiene items such as toilet paper, laundry detergent and toothpaste.
"Cash doesn't stretch as far as it used to," said one mom who is having to charge basic items on her credit card to help her family get by.

As you know, Mercy Chefs has launched a summer outreach we're calling "Send Hope Home" that is delivering special Grocery Paks that can provide 20 meals for a family of four.
This grocery pack can make a huge difference for a family that is struggling to buy even toilet paper and has already had to cut way back on food.
If you haven't done so already, would you prayerfully consider helping to sponsor hurting families this week? My goal is to provide at least 50,000 meals through our "Send Hope Home" outreach. Go here to sponsor two families ($70) or even more:
Perhaps you can go the "extra mile" and match what your family normally spends on groceries in a week or even a month! Every $35 you contribute will provide a family with 20 meals, so $175 will help feed FIVE families and $350 will help feed ten families.
"Send Hope Home" is a very important outreach for me, personally. Our neighbors here at home are struggling. Web searches for "pawn shop" have skyrocketed. When I see reports that people are resorting to "dumpster dining" it breaks my heart.
