MONDAY A.M. UPDATE-- HURRICANE HELENE SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

As I shared yesterday, Mercy Chefs is deploying in North Carolina this week, meaning we now have two full-scale deployments in response to the devastation from Hurricane Helene.

We'll serve 10,000 meals today in Florida and thousands more starting tomorrow in North Carolina where the devastation is on a scale we haven't witnessed since Hurricane Katrina. Asheville and surrounding communities have been totally devastated.

The death toll now stands at 116 and is expected to continue to rise. Our hearts are broken for these families and communities, and we must do everything in our power to help.

+ + Special Announcement: Matching Challenge TODAY

When a dear friend of Mercy Chefs heard about our second deployment, they immediately stepped forward with an amazing gift: a $50,000 Matching Challenge over the next 48 hours! That means every dollar you donate will be matched, doubling your impact until we fully match this challenge.

I'm actually hoping we can double or even triple this challenge gift in the next 48 hours. With two full-scale deployments, we need every possible resource to feed Helene victims in both Florida and North Carolina.

Can you help with a special gift today, doubled by this Matching Challenge? Go here to sponsor meals for Helene victims in Florida and North Carolina -- doubled in impact by this challenge:

This is one of the largest disaster responses we’ve ever undertaken. That's why this special Matching Challenge is so vital.

  • Your donation of $70, doubled by this challenge, now helps provide 40 meals.
  • A gift of $175 now feeds 100 people;
  • Perhaps you can do more and sponsor 1,000 meals ($1,750) or even 2,000 meals ($3,500).

Every gift will help, and every dollar donated will be doubled until we meet this challenge gift.

Finally, please pray for the thousands of families who have been devastated by this storm.

And thanks in advance for your help today.

God bless,

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs

P.S. If you are in one of the impacted areas and are receiving this, please know that we are doing everything in our power to get help to those in need.
