A massive, 250-mile-long tornado strike last night has left 79 dead and communities across four states reeling. Mercy Chefs is DEPLOYING and we need your help. Go here to help sponsor meals for tornado victims, and see below. --Gary

We are all in SHOCK. Our Mercy Chefs team traveled to Waverly, Tennessee to provide Christmas meals to flood victims in this hard-hit community when a massive tornado strike ripped a 250-mile path from Arkansas through Kentucky. Officials are reporting 79 deaths, including 70 in Kentucky alone!

+ + Entire town "basically gone... every building destroyed"

The downtown of Mayfield, Kentucky, was destroyed by the storm. The images are shocking -- building after building totally demolished, as if a bomb went off. A reporter tweeted, "Town center of Mayfield is basically gone. Just about every building destroyed." (Still image from WDRB.com drone footage.)

Officials are not sure if this was one massive tornado or a series of tornadoes. Either way, this is one of the most devastating tornado strikes we have ever seen.

+ + We are DEPLOYING immediately!

Our Mercy Chefs team is heartbroken by the loss. After serving meals in Waverly, our team is immediately deploying to Mayfield -- an epicenter of the destruction -- and we will begin serving meals as soon as tomorrow (Sunday) for dinner.

I'm issuing an URGENT CALL FOR HELP to every member of the Mercy Chefs family. Will you help us RIGHT NOW so we can respond with full force to this overwhelming disaster which has hit just two weeks before Christmas?

Go here now to help Mercy Chefs provide hot meals to tornado victims and volunteers in Kentucky in the aftermath of this massive storm, and continue other vital efforts:

This is an unimaginable disaster. PLEASE PRAY for the families who have lost loved ones and those whose lives have been turned upside down by this massive storm. It's so heartbreaking... just days before Christmas one of the largest and most destructive tornadoes hits.

Also pray for our team. We are RUSHING staff, our mobile kitchen and other resources to the area. We need the Lord's favor to get a supply line of food going immediately so we can serve meals tomorrow. We need God's help AND your prayers and support!

I'll be sharing more as we get details.

God bless,

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
