Our team was back in Lake Charles, Louisiana, this past weekend, providing Thanksgiving dinners for families there who were hit hard by two hurricanes this year.

The coronavirus crisis has caused our team to re-think our holiday meals since large banquet-style dinners are not yet possible. Instead, we are preparing ready-to-heat holiday feasts that families can have and serve on Thanksgiving. This weekend alone, we provided more than 5,600 "Season Of Hope" holiday meals to families across Lake Charles. Folks are always surprised that we make the effort to come back over the holidays. But this is our holiday tradition -- returning to areas hard hit by disaster during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.

This time of year is often the toughest for those impacted by disaster. When you are still putting your life and your home back together, Thanksgiving dinner may not be possible. That's why I'm so grateful for friends like you who help sponsor each and every holiday meal.

+ + We're distributing meals TODAY!

Today and tomorrow, our team is distributing holiday meals in San Antonio and McAllen, Texas.  Also this week, we are facilitating four grocery box distributions in Oklahoma and Virginia to help hurting families at this time. It's all part of our Season Of Hope efforts.

In all, through our ready-to-heat holiday meals and the meal box program, Mercy Chefs will provide thousands of meals to hurting families here in America around the holidays. I want to do even more. Will you partner with Mercy Chefs to feed a family of five (for just $25)? Or perhaps you could sponsor 10 holiday meals ($50), or 20 ($100), or even 100 ($500). Go here to make your tax-deductible gift:

Even though we cannot host the large holiday banquets this year, we are still able to provide full Thanksgiving dinners with all the fixings -- ready to heat! These may be the only Thanksgiving meals many families will receive this year. That's why these holiday outreaches are such an important part of what Mercy Chefs does every year.

And every meal is made possible by friends like you. Thank you in advance for partnering with Mercy Chefs to provide holiday meals to hurting folks here in America, and God bless!
