On Thursday, we served TWICE the number of expected emergency meals in Houma, Louisiana. Yesterday, we more than TRIPLED our "Day 1" total. Before lunch is over today, we expect to reach an amazing 10,000 meals served!

We're feeding body and soul in Louisiana again today. Click here to sponsor hot meals that our chefs are preparing for hurricane victims right now.
The Mercy Chefs team is in Houma, Louisiana, again today. We're here meeting the needs of men, women and children in the aftermath of Hurricane Francine. The devastating Category 2 storm came ashore Wednesday with 100-mph winds, causing widespread destruction and intense flooding. As of this writing, 200,000 people are still without power.
Last night's dinner -- the first meals served during this deployment -- was miraculous. So many people drove through our pick-up line that the cars created a dark red line of traffic on a local online map!
Our team served TWICE AS MANY MEALS as expected. We had food for 1,000 meals and distributed them in the first 30 minutes of our two-hour dinner service!
Emboldened by our mandate to "just go feed people," our chefs began cooking food that we intended to use for lunch today. In what became a modern-day "loaves and fishes miracle," we managed to prepare 1,000 ADDITIONAL MEALS and serve nearly all of them!

Mercy Chefs has established our base of relief operations at the epicenter of the greatest need. We started feeding people last night and will continue to stand with these victims for as long as we can.
Our team has encountered so many hungry people desperate for a hot meal. We're overwhelmed by the magnitude of the need here.
