I'm sure you've heard about the water crisis in Jackson, Mississippi.

Due to recent flooding and longstanding troubles with the city's water system, Jackson currently has no reliable source of fresh, drinkable water. The crisis escalated in the past 24 hours as city officials ran out of bottled water for residents.

Mercy Chefs has significant experience in providing fresh, drinkable water during disasters, especially in international locations where potable water can be scarce. Today, we are deploying a Mercy Chefs team from our base in Alabama to help with this crisis. We are bringing pallets of bottled water as well as a water purification unit that can produce thousands of gallons of drinking water daily. The bottled water and the purification unit will be a great resource for our church partners in Jackson who will be helping with distribution.
