These fires are massive and still growing. More families need help. I want to do more to support emergency personnel. Please see below, and go here to sponsor meals for wildfire victims and workers. -- Gary
Mercy Chefs' disaster team is based just west of one of the raging wildfires here in New Mexico which has grown to become the second largest wildfire in state history, consuming more than 200,000 acres.
From our location just a few miles from the flames, we see massive plumes of smoke rising into the sky. Of course for safety reasons, officials are not allowing anyone to travel close to the fires, especially with high winds causing the fire line to advance at up to 50 miles per hour! But fire officials have shared these images on social media which show the rage of these wildfires.
Mercy Chefs continues our mission to provide chef-prepared meals to evacuees as well as emergency personnel. Our team is serving moms and their children who have been forced to leave their homes with no guarantee they will ever return. As I noted earlier in the week, we have also provided meals to a fire team from Montana that is flying helicopters into the line of the fire. We also recently expanded to serve more locations as more families are forced to evacuate.
+ + I need your help TODAY!
This is why Mercy Chefs exists -- to get high-quality, chef-prepared meals to those in the path of disaster. We are here and we're serving meals to fire victims and volunteers. I want to do more, but now I need your help!
If you haven't yet supported our New Mexico wildfire relief, would you please consider helping to sponsor 10, 20, 50 or even 100 or more meals today? We are on the front-lines of this relief effort here in New Mexico and I need your help! Go here to sponsor meals for wildfire victims and volunteers:
Again, this is one of the worst wildfire emergencies New Mexico has ever seen. Mercy Chefs is here. We are serving meals. But I need your help!
Thanks in advance, and God bless,
Gary LeBlanc
P.S. Many of those receiving our meals ask our team to pray. Pray that the fires will not consume their homes. Pray for friends and family who also have been forced to flee. And pray for rain to come! Mercy Chefs is here to provide hot meals and all the support we can to these folks in the path of devastation. Please join with us.
